BA Flights To Ibiza From London City Airport

LONDON City Airport's first venture into leisure tourism appears to be working well.

British Airways has announced it is extending new summer flights to Ibiza and Mallorca by an extra five weeks.

DJ Paul Woolford helped to launch the service last month cabin crew member Stacey
The extension means services to the Balearic Islands until the end of October - which includes the school half term holidays.

Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager for BA CityFlyer, the British Airways subsidiary which operates the service, said: "These leisure routes have really taken off from London City, they proved so popular that we have already increased frequency to Mallorca to five flights a week and to Ibiza to four flights a week in July and August."

The flights were the first time London City Airport has launched new routes targeted primarily at the leisure market, having always previously been regarded as a business-only service.
