Opodo are reporting that Travellers catching flights from London City airport this year will benefit from measures that have been introduced to reduce passenger processing times.
Two new security check-in lanes were recently opened at the base, increasing its total number of search areas to six.
Extra security staff have also been recruited and new equipment has been purchased to speed up the flow of passenger traffic through the airport.
London City chief executive Richard Gooding OBE said: 'The airport's core offering is to ensure the passenger experience is stress-free with quick departure and arrival processing times.
'To restore quick security processing times the airport undertook a number of measures to speed up security searches. We are pleased the new search facility, which has been operational since the weekend, has increased passenger screening capacity by 50%.'
While it is primarily used as a business travel hub, London City has made a number of changes to its network recently to appeal to leisure travellers.
British Airways will launch new flights to Ibiza and Mallorca from the airport in May, while a year-round service to Barcelona is set to be introduced this month.
